New Guinea impatiens petticoat

Taking the best of the Petticoat and Tamarinda series and adding new genetics, the 22 Petticoat strains offer both solid and innovative options. MPS production adds sustainability, with integrated pest control production. The carbon footprint is very low, according to Dümmen.

Coleus from the main street

The popular Main Street Coleus is tolerant of sun and shade at the end of flowering and very resistant to mold. This is ideal for combination containers and in the landscape with a long retail shelf life. The uniform size makes them easy container options with similar vigor and timing throughout the series. It can even grow indoors in low light. And for the consumer, it will stay healthy from spring to summer. New to the line are Young Street, Orchard Road and Venice Boulevard.

Angelonia Aria

Sturdy and upright, this new Angelonia augustifolia is heat tolerant and performs well in the landscape. With no pinch or PGR required, this is an easy option for growers.

I’conia begonia

Several I’Conia brand series were launched in 2015 and several new introductions were announced for the 2019 retail season. New this year is the first scent option in the I’conia begonia range: I’conia Scentiment Peachy Keen. Another novelty is the two-tone I’conia Lemon Berry. Easy to plug in and very tough, it offers masses of elegant and vibrant blooms that persist throughout the season.

Calibrachoa Rainbow ‘Pink Pepperberry’

The Rainbow calibrachoa series is the newest addition to Dümmen’s genetic portfolio. High vigor and a penchant for changing its bloom colors to suit environmental conditions are two characteristics that should make this new series popular with homeowners, landscapers and plant buyers around the world.

New Guinea Impatiens Roller Coaster Series ‘Valravn Violet’

An erect habit and unique flower shape (spiky petals) with huge double petals help to create a more three-dimensional effect in the garden. This New Guinea will also flower earlier than many of its counterparts, making it a good candidate for early spring sales. Cuttings are available through Dümmen’s Basewell system, allowing growers to get through the propagation phase and potentially shorten the production cycle by almost a month.

Calibrachoa Tik Tok

Tik Tok calibrachoa’s new orange (see above) and pink options join last year’s blue, pink and grape introductions. Very early to flower and of neutral day length, they are of medium vigor with a semi-drooping habit, which makes them suitable for landscape and container use. The two new colors are also included in the Clockworks Confetti Garden combination.

Jumpsuits Garden Party Pollinator’s Paradise

Combining both annuals and perennials, these mixtures are specially selected to attract bees, hummingbirds or butterflies, offering a variety of shapes and sizes for different pollinator friends. Pollinator’s Paradise, introduced in 2021, works well when planting all components as liners rooted together, ensuring a uniform finish of flowering times and habits of all varieties. The perennials selected for the combinations are flowering the first year, so they will match perfectly in the greenhouse with annuals. Above, Hummingbird Nectar, left, and Hummingbird Wing.
