Free property marking in Malvern so residents can keep their belongings safe
Residents wishing to protect their property from thieves can have it marked at an event in Malvern on Wednesday, June 2.
The session, hosted by the Malvern Hills District Council, takes place between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Pendock Primary School parking lot.
A free property marking event will help protect your items
Agents will be on hand to provide free property security marking and home security advice.
People can bring bikes, trailers, horse boxes, power tools, gardening equipment, laptops and more.
A range of methods will be used, including an open property marking system called CREMARK. This system uses a visible security code consisting of a postal code and a house number, or two letters of your house name, which makes the item identifiable and traceable.
Other methods will include UV pens and stickers, as well as bike marking. Covid-19 security measures will be in place at all times.
Councilor Tom Wells, Community Services Portfolio Holder at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “Marking property is like giving your possessions a unique fingerprint that will help identify them if they are. stolen or lost. It’s a great way to protect them and give you extra peace of mind, all for free! “
